Irish American Partnership Chairman Michael T. Clune Honored with an Ireland Network Spirit Award

The award was presented by the Board of Ireland Network Chicago in recognition of Clune’s significant and sustained service to the Irish Community in Chicago and beyond.

February 11, 2024 - As Chairman of the Board of the Irish American Partnership for the past 8 years, Michael T. Clune (Mike) actively guides and supports the organization that he has been associated with for over more than twenty-five years. Mike also serves as the Chairman of Clune Construction and sits on the company’s Board of Directors. His leadership, encouragement, and philanthropic spirit have made it possible for the Irish American Partnership to raise over $53 million through targeted giving to education, community development, and peace initiatives across the island of Ireland.

On February 10th while celebrating the milestone of 20 years of connecting and contributing to a strong and vibrant Irish community, Ireland Network Chicago honored Mike with the IN Spirit award to demonstrate their profound gratitude for his incredible service to the Irish community.

The award was presented at the 20th annual ball attended by 400+ of INC members, partners, and supporters and included remarks from Consul General of Chicago and the Mid-West, Kevin Byrne, and celebratory messages from Irish American Partnership Patron and three-time Major Champion Pádraig Harrington, Dublin Senior Football Manager and Irish American Partnership Board Member Dessie Farrell, and seven-time Dublin Senior Football All-Ireland winner Bernard Brogan,

A dedicated philanthropist, Mike promotes the importance of giving back to your community. Clune Construction - the company Mike established in Chicago and grew to five offices nationwide - is deeply engaged in each community it serves, annually allocating a portion of its profits to support local and national charities. Clune Construction has also committed to contributing over $1 million to cancer research.

Mike has extended his support to various organizations over the years including C.R.A.S.H. USA (of which he is a co-founder), Mercy Housing Lakefront, Rebuilding Together, Emeritus of Chicago House, Loyola Academy, and Joseph and Mary Retreat House. Mike and Clune Construction have also supported and sponsored many Irish athletes and sporting events, including Padraig Harrington, Michael Conlon, Saint Patrick’s Athletic F.C., Dublin Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA), the Irish Everest Team, and Junior Olympics.
